Spatial Audio Exploration Day: From Broadcast to Immersive Installation
Tue 17th March @ 10:00 – 16:30

Explore how spatial audio is used in broadcast, XR and live events, with live demos, industry talks and studio sessions at HOST, Mediacity. Spatial audio is moving beyond experimentation. It’s now shaping advertising, live sport, immersive installations, games, music, theatre and broadcast. This full-day exploration brings together producers, technologists, audio specialists and immersive creators to examine how spatial and immersive audio is being used commercially, and how you can apply it. You will move between talks, lab spaces and live technical demonstrations inside HOST and MITIH’s specialist facilities. Lunch + MITIH Labs Tour (12:30–1:30) – Tour of HOST facilities, visit to the Spatial Audio Lab, experience immersive audiovisual work inside Igloo. Afternoon: Hands-On Spatial Audio Environments (1:30–4:30) – Rotate through three live working environments: Installation-Based Immersive Sound (Igloo), Ambisonics & 7.1.4 Production (Spatial Audio Studio), Live Immersive Audio Systems (Echo Chamber).
